Throughout her life, Patricia devoted her resources to charities near to her heart — and the need this year is greater than ever. Every dollar matters!
If you worry that donations under $25 are too insignificant to matter, please reconsider. The last 20 months have been some of the most difficult in the lives of people all across America.
In the spirit of Patricia’s legacy of contribution, each week we will feature 3 organizations dedicated to a compelling cause, from families to the environment to animal protection.
Here are 3 that could truly use our support:
1. Baby2Baby: Baby2Baby provides children living in poverty with diapers, clothing and basic necessities. You can even adopt a family for the holidays at baby2baby.org and make a huge difference in a child’s life! Here is a letter from the founders, Co-CEO’s Kelly Sawyer and Norah Weinstein:
“What we never could have imagined is a worldwide pandemic that would absolutely devastate children in poverty. Over half of the items we’ve distributed — 100 million of them — including diapers, formula, soap, shampoo, masks, hand sanitizer, food and more — have been provided to children across the country just since the COVID crisis began.
On top of the pandemic, we faced one of the worst hurricane and fire seasons on record and the families we serve were once again hit hardest by these disasters. Through our Disaster Relief program over the last 10 years, we have distributed over 30 million emergency supplies to families who have lost everything.Thank you for your incredible support to make Baby2Baby’s work possible in this unprecedented year, Love, Kelly & Norah.”
2. One Simple Wish: In their words, “One Simple Wish is dedicated to brightening the lives of individuals impacted by the trauma of foster care. On our site you can grant a wish, donate to our Scholarship Fund or make a gift towards our amazing mission. You can even grant a wish in honor of someone special!”
This amazing organization has donated laptops, skates, cowboy boots, winter coats and more to kids of all ages in foster care.
3. Together Rising: supports women and children in need of housing, food and resources. “We transform collective heartbreak into action. Every penny we receive from your personal donation goes to people in need.”
Founded by “Untamed” author, Glennon Doyle and her partner Abby Wambach, Together Rising has made life safer and more secure for thousands; this year they are focusing on the needs of essential workers impacted by Covid. Their motto is “We believe we live in a world where People Belong To Each Other. You are not alone. Our help is here. And here we will remain.”
Thank you for your support!
